Charleroi coach Hans Cornelis has been appointed as a new member of the staff at KAA Gent. He will be the assistant coach under Rik De Mil. Cornelis was in the last months of the season working at Charleroi as head coach, but was recently fired just before the end of the competition. A new challenge for Hans Cornelis. After his departure from Charleroi, he will start working at KAA Gent from next season as assistant coach to Rik De Mil. Cornelis and De Mil know each other, as they formed a duo at Charleroi from the beginning of last season. When De Mil moved to KAA Gent, Cornelis took over from De Mil as interim coach. A month later, he was also officially appointed as coach of Charleroi. The Walloon team was still in contention for a European ticket, but Charleroi dropped Cornelis early in the European Play-offs. Two months later, Cornelis has therefore landed a new job, again as assistant coach to Rik De Mil.
