Charleroi has appointed a new manager for the upcoming season. Mario Kohnen signed a contract with Charleroi on Wednesday afternoon. Kohnen is no stranger to the Zebra's. In the previous season, he was already active as interim manager at the club in the European Play-Offs. After Sporting Charleroi was still allowed to participate in the qualifying rounds of the Conference League, the season in the Jupiler Pro League was disappointing. After a period of disappointing results, coach Hans Cornelis was fired, making Kohnen the interim manager. Although the Zebra's avoided the Relegation Play-Offs, they played a fairly invisible role in the European Play-Offs. Here, they achieved the fewest points together with Oud-Heverlee Leuven. Mario Kohnen has been involved with the club since his arrival and knows the DNA of Sporting inside out. He fully supports the philosophy that drives our project: 'Hard work - Strong play - Big dreams', with the ambition to further develop a strong, demanding and sustainable sporting identity. The club is pleased with Kohnen's arrival and hopes that he can lead the club to success in the coming seasons. With the appointment of Kohnen, Charleroi hopes to start a new chapter and forget the disappointing results of the previous season. The club's fans are also pleased with Kohnen's arrival and hope that he can lead the club to the top of the Jupiler Pro League. Kohnen's experience and knowledge of the club make him the ideal candidate for the job. The club is confident that he can make a positive impact and lead the team to victory.
