Charleroi player Van Den Kerkhof receives reduced punishment from Disciplinary Committee. Mehdi Bayat, the chairman of the Disciplinary Committee, has decided to reduce the punishment of Van Den Kerkhof. According to Bayat, the punishment was too harsh for the player. Van Den Kerkhof was involved in a conflict with a referee during a match between Charleroi and Kortrijk on 10 February. The player had a verbal altercation with the referee and received a yellow card. The Disciplinary Committee had previously decided to impose a two-and-a-half-month heavy punishment on Van Den Kerkhof. But now the punishment has been reduced to a month. According to Bayat, the punishment was too harsh for the player and he has now been given a chance to recover. Van Den Kerkhof can now participate in the matches of Charleroi again.
