Dante Bonfim Costa, known as Dante, has officially ended his impressive playing career. The 42-year-old Brazilian defender closed his long and beautiful career and has already taken on a new challenge: he signs with his old club Bayern München as a youth coach. Dante becomes coach of the Under 23 team of Bayern München, as the club announced. In his first reaction, Dante showed enthusiasm for his new challenge. "I am extremely enthusiastic about this role at my old club, Bayern München, and I want to thank the management for their trust. I look forward to working with all players, staff and management together", it sounds in a press release. Dante came to Europe at a young age and built his way to the top via a period in Belgium. After periods at Charleroi and Standard, he moved on to Borussia Mönchengladbach, where he had his absolute breakthrough at Bayern München. There, he won the Champions League and became a fixed value at the highest level. His playing career, with a total of 767 official games and 13 international games for Brazil, ends recently at OGC Nice, where he remained active until the last moment in the Ligue 1-play-offs.
