Charleroi does not want to be relegated from the illegal competition of the Challenger Pro League. The club demands that the Pro League annuls the consequences of the illegal system and keeps the teams with a D1B license. According to club manager Marcel Gevart, the 2025/2026 season had an illegal course. The club contacted the KBVB and wants to hear on June 10 at the next meeting that they will not be relegated. The annulment of all consequences of the illegal competition; the preservation in D1B of all teams with a D1B license; and the regularization of the situation before the start of the 2026-2027 season, is the statement of Olympic Charleroi. If a satisfactory answer is not received during this meeting, the club is ready to take urgent legal steps with the competent courts, including a court order or a procedure with the ABC, with sanctions in case of non-compliance if necessary. This position is shared by several clubs, including some that play in lower divisions, who are directly affected by the consequences of this illegal system.
