Charleroi played a friendly match against Helmond Sport on Wednesday afternoon in a closed GS Staalwerken Stadion. This match was scheduled to make the most of the international break, during which there are no Keuken Kampioen Divisie matches on the agenda. Helmond Sport scored three goals, courtesy of El Arnouki, Daneels and Janssen, to win 3-1 against the Belgians. Head coach Jurgen Seegers looks back on the match with a positive feeling: “For us, these are valuable moments. You see boys hungry to play, improve each other and get the most out of themselves. We can work on fitness, adaptation in our game and player development. Ultimately, it's about becoming a stronger team every week, and matches like this really contribute to that.”
